tersa yawned and slowly got up. She was careful not to wake her parents. Tersa and her parents ran away from home and joined a wolf pack. Actually it was a mixture of huskies and wolves. Tersa met a handsome wolf named Zack, who had a nice black coat and black eyes. Just his paws had light brown patches. Tersa was completely in love with him, and Zack was crazy about her. Tersa looked just like her father, black fur with a white belly, face and legs. But she had her mother's beautiful blue eyes. Also, Tersa always wore a rose pink bandana around her neck. Tersa's parents, though, completely disagreed with Tersa. Because Zack was a wolf, Tersa's parents did not like him. Zack's parents also were not crazy about Tersa. In fact, the wolves and huskies tried to stay away from each other. They only stayed together to get help hunting. So Tersa always had to sneak out early if she wanted to see Zack.

Zack was waiting outside the cave for Tersa. Tersa greeted him with a lick on the cheek and they took off together. They always went to a forbidden beach, where the Alpha wolves said to stay away from. Zack and Tersa loved to watch the waves roll up and then back down. But they always had to stay hidded, because there were humans around. This was the exact reason it was forbidden. Zack and Tersa laughed as a little girl splashed in the water. "I don't see why they're dangerous," Tersa reasoned. "I mean, just look at that little human. What danger could she possibly do?" Zack nodded. "I know, I asked that to my father once. He said just because. Then he walked off with his annoyed face." Tersa laughed again. They stayed until the sun began to rise, but then hurried home before their parents saw them missing.

Tersa began her work of the day. Each dog/wolf was assigned to do something for the pack. Tersa's job was mice catching. As she began to search, Trak, the cutest husky, stopped her. "Why hello, Tersa." he said with his head held high. "You look nice as always." Tersa smiled and continued. Trak had a red coat and was very muscular. Every female husky was in love with him. He was the most handsome one there. Out of all dogs, he thought Tersa was the prettiest. "What's a girl like yourself looking for mice? Someone should be looking for mice for you." Tersa smiled again and froze. A gray little rat was busily gnawing on a nut. "Wait Tersa," Trak whispered, "Let me handle this." Tersa sat back, and Trak went to impress her. Quick as lightning, he pounced on the mouse and killed it in one bite. Trak padded over, head still high, and dropped the dead mouse in front of her. "Impressive," Tersa said, trying to be nice. Trak nodded and waved his tail good bye to her. "See ya, Terrie." Trak then ran off. Tersa wrinkled her nose in disgust, as Zack walked up to her. "Terri?" Zack teased. Tersa stuck out her tongue. "Ha," Zack laughed, "Interesting name........but I think I'll keep the name Tersa." Tersa smiled and was about to lick Zack. "TERSA!" It was Tersa's father. Tersa moaned, and Zack ran out of sight.

"Tersa, what do you think you are doing?" Tersa's mother came out this time. "I'm catching mice, what does it look like?" Tersa turned her back on them, sniffing again. "Don't use that attitude with me young lady. We have told you over and over about those wolves." Tersa rolled her eyes. "Mom, I don't see what's wrong with Zack. He's a nice guy." Tersa's father stepped in front of Tersa, making her sit up and listen. "Tersa, follow me." Her dad went in the cave. and Tersa followed behind. When the three were alone, Tersa's dad talked seriously. "Tersa, do you remember your brother? Prince?" Tersa nodded sadly. Prince was a pure white husky, that used to be Tersa's brother. "Well, Prince, we let him hang out with wolves when he was young. But one day, humans came to our forest.......humans that were hunting for wolves, not huskies. well because Prince was hanging out with the wolves, humans found and caught him...........they shot him and knocked him out.........he was never seen again." Tersa's mother put a paw on Tersa's shoulder. "You see Tersa, wolves will just lead you to danger..........besides, you and Zack don't look like each other and are completely different species!" Tersa turned away. "Dad, Mom that isn't a good reason......Zack isn't like that at all........he loves me." Tersa's dad smiled and pointed toward Trak. "Now what about that guy? Trak is handsome..........any girl would kill for him.......and he chose you!" Tersa nodded unwillingly and hopped away to see Zack.

"Tersa, are you alright? You seem to be thinking a lot today," Zack asked. Tersa sighed and told him the story of Prince and what her parents said about wolves. "You don't believe that it's wolves fault, do you?" Tersa laughed. "Of course not Zack," Tersa went and nuzzled Zack. "Well, I have to go." With that, Zack ran off, leaving Tersa alone. Trak then appeared out of no where. "Hello Terrie........you know, you shouldn't be talking to a wolf. Especially that one........he's trouble." Tersa rolled her eyes. "Trak I must go." Tersa began walking toward home, but Trak stood in her path. "Move Trak!" Tersa exclaimed angrily. Trak did not move, but began growling. "Listen, Tersa. I don't want you going near that wolf kid.......you understand?" Tersa gave Trak a disgusted look. "I'll go near whoever I want to!" Tersa ran past Trak, but Trak leaped and closed his jaw on Tersa's paw. Tersa yelped in pain and fell in the snow. "Don't go near Zack, or else." Trak growled once again, and took off. Tersa limped home, not saying anything to her parents, though. When her parents asked her what was wrong with her paw, she just said a rock fell on it. Tersa stayed in the cave for three days, not knowing what to do. Then one day, Zack snuck in the cave. Tersa eyes grew wide when she saw him. "Tersa? Where have you been?!" "Shh! Zack, I've been hiding," Tersa whispered, "Trak forced me to stay away from you, or something bad would happen." Zack began feeling anger in his throat, and told Tersa that no matter what, they would always see each other. "It's not safe, Zack." Zack shook his head, "Nothing will tear us apart........nothing." Tersa smiled and licked Zack. Confident, the two walked out of the cave together, only to be greeted by Tersa's parents. "Tersa! Get away from him!'' Tersa's father came and pushed Zack to the ground. Tersa ran in front of her father. "Dad, leave him alone! We love each other!..............And there's nothing you can do about it." Shocked, Tersa's parents sat up together and watched Zack and Tersa leave with high heads.

Zack and Tersa laughed together as they sat in their secret beach spot. "I can't believe I told my parents that!" Tersa said happily. "It felt good, though. Didn't it?" Zack said smiling. Tersa answered softly, "Yes.........It did." Zack and Tersa gazed at each other in romance. Suddenly, Zack fell to the ground with a yelp. "Zack!" Tersa cried. Trak.........was on top of him. Trak pinned Zack to the ground and sunk his teeth in his throat. Tersa leaped on top of Trak and tore him off of Zack. Trak easily threw Tersa against a boulder. Tersa lay on the ground panting, too weak and hurt to get up. Trak hovered over her. "I warned you Tersa.............but you're too dumb to listen.......and now that scraggly mutt must die!" Trak turned to Zack. He lay unconcious on the floor, his eyes barely open. "Zack!" Tersa cried again. She pushed herself up, but fell imediately. Tersa cried and turned away, not wanting to see Zack's last breath. Trak laughed and lifted his paw in the air. Tershie shut her eyes.

POW!!! I loud boom sound went off, and a dog yelped. Tershie shut her eyes tight, letting tears to burst out. Sniffing, Tersa turned around. Then, Tersa stopped crying. She smiled. Zack was weakly getting up with a smile also. Trak lay on the snow, staining it with blood. A human had seen them from the beach, and shot the dog. Trak had a bullet wound in the head, and his mouth was foaming. Tersa lay there, unable to get up, and watched Zack limp over to her. "You alright?" Zack asked. Tersa laughed. "Well, besides my injuries, I'm fine. Are you okay?" "Never felt better," The two laughed, seeing bite marks on Zack. Zack lay near Tersa and they decided to rest there, since they could not travel. But then, Zack felt metal come across his mouth. Zack yelped and snarled, but the metal-like thing would not come off. It was a muzzle. "Zack? Zack!" Tersa exclaimed. A human held a wire chain that was tied around Zack. Zack could not attack with the strong muzzle on him. Another human came and put a leather muzzle on Tersa. Tersa cried, but could not get up. When the human realized she was hurt, He roughly picked her up and lay her in a cage. Tersa felt herself being carried into a truck. Zack was next to her, tied up. The truck started and drove off with their new victims.
